The end...

The car is back together, but...

During the road test, I've heard a rear bearing. I've used to one that was on the previous drum (Rear right).

The car is finished and delivered.

Rear left...

The rear left brake line had the wrong ending. I am wondering how this did not leak.

Obviously not original...

I made a new one with Citroen fittings.

I had to do some grinding to get the drum properly fitted.

Front left brakes...

The front left brake was the only one that did not give me any problem.

Some sanding to deglaze the drum.

Due to the clutch cable and brake hose, the access to the tuning bolts and the bleeder was not fun though.

Front right brakes...

Put together the front brakes and tuned them up, but...

Once the drum is installed, it doesn't turn. I have noticed a lot of ware at the bottom of the drum when I removed it. It just doesn't work with the new shoes. After visiting the part book, turned out that drums changed in 1970. I had to buy a used drum which is correct for this car.

The "new" used drum was pretty rusted; looking good now.

This is the other side.

Now in place and fitting right.

Right rear brakes...

After problems getting parts, wrong parts or non fitting parts, I finally upon completion on the 2cv. I've worked on different brakes according to the availability of the parts I've received. For ease of reading of this blog, I have grouped the posts by area of work.

I have received a used drum to replace the damaged one. Here I am using lapping compound to restore the thread and make the installation of the new ring nut easier.

Making a new line to replace the rusty and broken one...

Sanded the drum...

Tuned the brakes shoes to the new drum...

Done.
